TUDOR HOUSE
Tudor House is an almshouse charity based in a grade II listed building in the centre of Winchcombe, which was built in the 1830’s
Tudor House & Mabel Georgina Marian Shickle
Tudor House was established as an almshouse charity in the Will of its founder Mabel Georgina Marian Shickle who died on 10th June 1931. Miss Shickle was described in her Will as a spinster and she left Tudor House “to be used as three or more furnished Homes for gentlepeople of limited means”. (Some time since then the charity obtained permission to sell certain chattels which Miss Shickle had left to the charity and the accommodation is now provided on a largely unfurnished basis.) The property benefits from an unusually large and beautiful garden for a town centre property.
